I am a designer by trade, after many years of owning and operating a residential design firm, I closed my doors in 2011. The market was up and down. “Let me off this roller coaster ride, please!”
My family and I moved from a large college town (Home of the fighting Aggies) in Texas to what is best known as The Texas Hill Country (Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Boerne, Johnson City, Blanco, Mason and more) It took me a year to settle in, find my creative niche and start another business. I love to paint furniture, missed the hands on side of the design business and found the market in The Hill Country to be good for what I was going to offer.
I started with a small booth at a monthly trade show and grew to open a studio where I hosted a many furniture paint workshops featuring Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. It wasn’t long before my paint product lines grew and the opportunity to open a small retail/boutique type store presented itself.
So here I am. Here is a picture of my store front. I would say my aesthetic, from years as a designer, is a mix of Hill Country Chic, Rustic & Refined with a Spanish Colonial or Country Flair. I hope you enjoy my blog and all I plan on offering… Happy Painting!!
